The “Sam Maes Fanbase” is a fan group that was founded in 2018/19. Five years after its unofficial foundation, the “Sam Maes Fanbase” is already one of the largest and most famous fan groups in the Alpine Ski World Cup. The fanbase is particularly known for its creative, artistic but also political flags and fan chants. The fanbase stands for values such as cohesion, equality and tolerance. Sam’s fanbase is a pioneer in alpine skiing with the example of football fans. The logo of the fanbase is a „Gorill“ – the Fanbase is also know as the „Gorilla-Gang“ or „G-Gang“.
