Viva Chapolins Brasileiros!

About the Fan Club

The Chapolins Brasileiros are a spirited group of Brazilian fans who dress up as Chapolín Colorado, the iconic Mexican TV character, in green and yellow, the colors of the Brazilian flag. Founded in 2011, the group supports Brazilian athletes at international competitions, including the Pan American Games, Olympics, and winter sports events. Since last season, they have also cheered for Brazilian skier Lucas Pinheiro Braathen.

Expect fun, color, and lively cheering! The Chapolins dance, wave flags, hand out Medalhitos, and create a festive atmosphere at competitions.

Our Story

The idea of dressing up as Chapolín Colorado started in 2011 during the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, as a tribute to Mexican culture and as a way to celebrate Brazilian athletes. Originally a small group of four, they quickly grew to over 20 members from different regions of Brazil.

One of their signature traditions is the Medalhitos – small crocheted Chapolín dolls given to athletes as tokens of encouragement and recognition. Over the years, the Chapolins Brasileiros have become known for their energy, creativity, and colorful outfits, bringing fun and enthusiasm to every event they attend.
