About the Fan Club

We are a passionate international fan club cheering for the incredible Lucas Pinheiro Braathen—a skier known for his fearless style, authenticity, and vibrant energy both on and off the slopes. Though Lucas was born and raised in Norway, he now proudly represents Brazil on the World Cup circuit. Our club began as an unplanned and spontaneous joy sparked by his return to racing, and quickly grew into a global community of fans inspired by his story and values.

Our Story

The Fan Club Lucas Brazil was born from a series of coincidences, shared laughter, and the joy surrounding Lucas Pinheiro Braathen’s return to skiing. It all started in Sölden 2023, where Lucas announced his unexpected retirement—and whispers of a comeback for Brazil began. During the Fan Club Parade, Darka from Petra Vlhova Fan Club met Øyvind Setnes, the president of Fan Club Feller Norwegen. That cheerful meeting sparked a connection that would unexpectedly grow into something more.

What began as light-hearted messages—training photos, playful jokes, and a sketch of a fictional logo—soon turned into a real project. With support from Øyvind and other friends, the logo was refined, stickers were printed, and Lucas himself received some during a ski event in Italy. A few days later, he officially announced his comeback for Brazil. With no plan—just joy—the Instagram page was launched. And the fan club began.

Lucas had been on our radar since his Europa Cup days, but it was his energy, originality, and openness that truly inspired us. His personality and values resonate deeply—especially for those of us who work with young people and understand the importance of authentic role models. We believe cheering can be a force of joy and connection. And that’s exactly what this club is about.

What we do

Well… a little bit of everything! That’s the beauty of this community — you never quite know what the next day will bring. For Europeans, Brazil feels exotic. For Brazilians, alpine skiing is a whole new world. Put that together and you get a whole lot of fun, weird combos, and creative energy. Like we say: like skier, like fan club 😄

Here are a few of our favorite things:

🌈 Beaded bracelet making
What started as a fun little craft by individual fans has grown into a whole movement. These handmade bracelets now travel across the World Cup circuit — passed from one fan to another, and sometimes even to Lucas himself. It’s become a peer-to-peer way of welcoming people into the club

🧠 Fan Club Quizzes
You know the saying panem et circenses — bread and games. Well, our fans love games. We’ve made nearly 200 quiz questions all about Lucas: his career, his comeback, his Brazilian journey. It’s a great way to stay engaged off-season. The current quiz champion? Lucas’s ski technician. No kidding.

🧷 Sticker Game
We’re all about spreading the vibe, but we also teach sticker etiquette: only “sticker-positive” zones, please! We love a bit of creative street art — respectfully done, of course.

🇧🇷 Portuguese for fans
As Lucas’s fame grows in Brazil, more and more content is popping up in Brazilian Portuguese — and not everyone speaks it. So one amazing fan from Rio offered to teach us some basics: fan-friendly phrases, podcast vocab, and cheering lingo. Now we have Fã-lamos Português – lessons every Monday, online! Join us!

🤝 Meet-ups at races (and beyond)
We mostly meet at races, often by chance. That green Brazilian flag? Super handy when you’re looking for fellow fans! Every meetup brings something different. One time we handed out 5 liters of caipirinha at a World Cup race. Another time? A beach party or samba dancers at a Brazilian festival. Who knows what’s next — and that’s exactly why it’s fun.

We’ve got new ideas brewing, and we’ll be back at the Fan Club Parade in Sölden too. But no matter what, we keep it light, we keep it joyful, and we keep cheering for Lucas and the values he brings to the sport.

Fan/fun facts

Fun facts – or as we like to call them in the fan club, The Next Big Things 😄 – tend to pop up now and then. Maybe it’s because this whole community runs on love.

One of the funniest and most special moments was the now-famous Brigadeiro Moment. Before the race in Sölden, our friends from the Brazilian crew living in Italy asked what they could do to celebrate Lucas and his new Brazilian chapter. After a quick brainstorming session, we came up with the idea of bringing him a little taste of home—his favorite sweets (as he once mentioned in an interview for CBDN).

We first thought about Pão de Queijo, but making them fresh would’ve been tricky. So Hebia went with Brigadeiros instead. What we didn’t expect? She made 350 of them! They disappeared in minutes during the fan club parade.

Lucas received the box of sweets with a smile and later mentioned it in several interviews with international media. It’s amazing to see how a tiny idea turned into such a joyful moment. We might have just started a new tradition!
